Overview
Discover the charm and natural beauty of Sri Lanka in this 5-day adventure. Begin your journey with a relaxing stay in the coastal town of Negombo. On Day 2, travel to the scenic city of Kandy with stops at the famous Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and the lush Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, followed by a traditional cultural dance show. The tour continues with two days in the beachside paradise of Bentota, where you’ll enjoy visits to a turtle hatchery, a serene Madu River boat ride, and plenty of time to unwind. On the final day, you’ll be transferred to the airport in time for your departure, wrapping up a memorable island getaway.
Itinerary
Day 01
Arrival and booking in to a hotel in Negombo.
- As per your 4 nights 5 days Sri Lanka package, today you will reach Bandaranaike International Airport.
- At the airport you will be met and greeted by our THE VISIT LANKA representative and thereafter board your vehicle to proceed to your hotel in Negambo. Once at the hotel, you will have the opportunity to relax and un wind. The rest of the day is available for you to spend at your leisure in the hotel.
Day 02
Travel from Negombo to Kandy
- After a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel, you may proceed to Kandy. En route you will visit the famous Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage where you will have an opportunity to watch many orphaned baby and adult elephants walking about in open spaces. The next stop will be at the Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya.
- The Botanical Garden is renowned for its collection of orchids. The garden includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. The total area of the botanical garden is 147 acres (0.59 km2), at 460 meters above sea level, and with a 200-day annual rainfall. It is managed by the Division of National Botanic Gardens of the Department of Agriculture.
- In the evening you will be entertained to a cultural dance show. After the cultural show, you will be provided with transport to your hotel, where you will spend the night.
Day 03 & 04
Bentota
- In the Third day of your tour, you will be travelling from Kandy to Bentota.
- Bentota is a resort town on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast. The long Bentota Beach stretches north, where it becomes a sandy strip known as Paradise Island which is found parallel to Bentota Lagoon.
- After breakfast the driver will be provided with transport for you to travel from Kandy to Bentota. On the way we will stop to see the Turtle Conservation and Hatchery site which will be followed by a boat ride on Madu River.
- After spending some enjoyable time here, you have the opportunity to return to your hotel and spend some leisurely time in a relaxed environment. The hotel will organize the dinner.
- Next day (Day 4) is kept aside for you as day of rest.
Day 05
Departure to Colombo
- An opportunity will be provided for you to spend some free time in the morning. You will be transferred back to airport and dropped off at the Bandaranaike International Airport in time for your flight (at least 2-3 hours before your flight.
