Sri Lanka Luxury Tour Itinerary with 8-Nights / 9-Days

Day 1: Arrival/ Airport to Negombo

The Visit Lanka Representative will warmly welcome you at Katunayaka Bandaranaike International Airport to commence your 8-day luxury tour in Sri Lanka. From there, we will proceed to the pre-booked hotel in Negombo, where you will enjoy a comfortable and luxurious stay. The hotel has been carefully selected to ensure your utmost satisfaction during your trip.

Day 2: Negombo to Dambulla

On the second day of your tour, we will travel from Negombo to Dambulla. Your itinerary includes visits to the Dambulla Cave Temple and the Golden Temple in Dambulla. Later in the evening, you will have the opportunity to go on a thrilling wildlife safari to observe elephants. If time permits, the Cave Temple visit can be scheduled for the next day morning before you direct to Kandy. For the night, you will enjoy a luxurious stay at a hotel in Sigiriya or Habarana.

The Dambulla Cave Temple is a significant UNESCO World Heritage site and dates back to the 1st century BC. It comprises five main caves adorned with ancient paintings, Buddha statues, murals, and sculptures. Exploring these caves offers a remarkable experience to witness Sri Lanka’s rich culture and history.

Day 3: Sigiriya to Kandy

On the third day morning, we will embark on the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress climb. Afterward, we will continue our journey to Kandy, making stops at the Matale Hindu Temple and Spice Garden. Your night accommodation will be at a luxurious hotel in Kandy.

Sigiriya Rock Fortress, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, is often regarded as the eighth wonder of the world. Climbing Sigiriya is an adventurous and exhilarating hiking experience. At the top, you can explore the remains of the ancient palace, once inhabited by King Kashyapa in the 5th century AD. The rock’s paintings, garden technology, water systems, and architectural marvels are truly remarkable.

Matale Hindu Temple, also known as Muthumariamman Temple, holds great religious significance in Sri Lanka. It offers a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in Hindu architecture and culture. The nearby Spice Garden in Matale is a must-visit destination, where you can witness various spice plants that grow in Sri Lanka. You’ll have the chance to learn about cultivation methods and taste these aromatic spices alongside delicious food.

Day 4 – Visit around Kandy City

After enjoying breakfast at your Kandy hotel, your first stop will be the Temple of the Tooth Relic. This sacred site holds immense importance for Buddhists worldwide, as it houses Lord Buddha’s left canine tooth. Many Buddhist devotees visit this temple for worship and reverence.

Next, you’ll visit the picturesque Peradeniya Botanical Garden, located near the Mahaweli River in Peradeniya. With over 4,000 plant species, including stunning orchids and diverse flowers, the garden offers a tranquil retreat to appreciate nature’s beauty. You can relax and immerse yourself in the peaceful surroundings.

Following the botanical garden visit, you’ll have the opportunity to witness a traditional Sri Lankan dance performance called ‘Kandy Cultural Dance.’ Organized by the Kandy Lake Club, these captivating dances are a delight to watch and will bring you immense joy.

Afterward, you’ll return to your Kandy hotel for an overnight stay and a well-deserved rest.

Day 5: Kandy to Ella through Nuwara Eliya

On the fifth day, your journey will take you from Kandy to Ella via Nuwara Eliya, two renowned tourist destinations in the central region of the island. After enjoying breakfast at your Kandy hotel, you’ll embark on a fantastic route with breathtaking views and lush tea gardens. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to marvel at a cascading waterfall and visit a tea garden and its factory, where you can even pluck tea leaves and learn about the famous Ceylon tea production process.

Next, you’ll explore the charming city of Nuwara Eliya, situated at an elevation of 1881 meters and known for its pleasant weather. Often referred to as “Little England in Sri Lanka,” it offers a fantastic experience for any traveler. Depending on the time available, you’ll visit various attractions in Nuwara Eliya. If you’re fortunate to catch the train, you’ll head to Nanu Oya railway station for an unforgettable train ride to Ella. If you miss the train, you’ll travel to Ella City by car.

For dinner and a delightful end to the day, you’ll stay at a beautiful and luxurious hotel in Ella City.

Day 6: Ella to Tissamaharama

On the sixth day of your luxury tour in Sri Lanka, you will travel from Ella to Tissamaharama. Start your day early as you embark on a one-hour hike to Ella Little Admas Peak, offering awe-inspiring views. Next, visit the historical Nine Arch Bridge, an iconic British-built train bridge. En route to Tissamaharama, marvel at the picturesque Ravana Ella waterfall, perfect for capturing memorable photos. Day 7: Tissamaharama to Bentota

Day 8: Rest at Bentota

On this day, you will have a relaxing stay at a luxurious hotel in Bentota, enjoying the comforts and amenities it offers. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore the beautiful Bentota Beach, a paradise known for its pristine sands and crystal-clear waters. Day 9: Departure
